Colt B. Ballou is the founder of Star City Chorus and has served as Artistic Director since it’s conception in 2022. He holds a B.M. in Music Education from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and a M.M. and DMA in Choral Conducting From the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Colt’s studied conducting under Tim McMIllin, Robert L. Larsen, Jeff Beutner, Peter Eklund. Eph Ehly, and BIll Hatcher. Along with Star City CHorus, Colt is an Instructor of Music the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Music Director and Organist for Southview Christian Church, and active in the Lincoln Public Schools. He has been an instructor of  advanced choral conducting at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, taught music in schools throughout Iowa, and has been an active church music director and organist since 2008 and has worked with numerous vocal groups from elementary to retirement ages. Colt is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity., Pi Kappa Lambda, American Choral Directors' Association (ACDA), and the American Guild of Organists (AGO)
